vitiligo

Vitiligo (also called Leukoderma) is a common, genetic, autoimmune skin disease that results in a loss of pigment from areas of the skin creating irregular patches of white spots. Vitiligo can appear at any age; however, it is a progressive condition. Many people can go years or decades without developing new spots. Vitiligo is not contagious and the precise cause is not known. Theoretically, it seems to be a result of biochemical, neurogenic and genetic factors.
