Obesity

Obesity is when a person has excessive amounts of body fat, which can lead to a variety of health problems, including heart disease. An increasingly common condition, nearly 1 out of every 3 American adults are obese. Additionally, the national rate of childhood obesity is also increasing. There are different types of obesity, including morbid obesity, which is measured by body mass index (or BMI). Avoiding high cholesterol diets, increasing exercise, and seeking doctor recommended treatments can all help an individual to battle obesity.
