Hypothyroidism

Hypothyroidism is a condition that is marked by insufficiently low thyroid hormone content in the body. Thyroid hormones help to regulate the metabolism of the body. When these hormones become inflamed, most commonly due to a condition called autoimmune thyroiditis, (wherein the autoimmune system of the body leads to gland failure,) fatigue, depression, cramps, and dryness of skin and hair can result.
