HIV
HIV, or the human immunodeficiency virus, is a sexually-transmitted virus with a long incubation period that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDs). Primarily carried and contracted via bodily fluids, one can also contract HIV through sharing needles. An incurable condition, HIV grows in the body, crippling the immune system, which leaves the body more vulnerable to illness. Those with HIV are also at increased risk for certain cancers and neurological disorders. Despite there being no cures for the disease, there are prescription drug treatments that have been developed, and having the disease isn't quite the death sentence that it once was.
