Headache

Headaches are the sensation of pain that is commonly experienced above the eyes or upper neck. An extremely common condition, nearly 45 million Americans suffer from chronic headaches. There are three different types of headaches: tension, migraine, and cluster. Tension headaches involve a tightening sensation of the head. Migraines are the result of a neurological disease, which are often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and increased sensitivity to visual and auditory stimuli. Often confused for severe headaches, migraines are serious and can lead to potentially fatal aneurysms. Cluster headaches are the rarest of the three, occurring more often in men. When one experiences a cluster headache, it feels as though a sharp pain is emanating behind the eyes. There are many effective over-the-counter and prescription drug treatments for headaches.
