Chronic Epstein-Barr Virus (CEBV)
Chronic Epstein – Barr Virus (CEBV) is a common human virus categorized in the herpes family. Most people will become infected with this kind of virus sometime in their life. CEBV causes infectious mononucleosis and plays a part in the creation of two rare forms of cancer: Burkitt's lymphoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma. A nondiscriminatory virus, CEBV occurs worldwide and most people will be infected during some point in life. In the United States, as many as 95 percent of adults between 35 and 40 years of age have been infected.
