Cholesterol
Cholesterol is a waxy substance of the liver. One can also digest cholesterol found in foods. High amounts of cholesterol can lead to obesity and heart disease. Cholesterol combines with certain proteins in order to travel through the bloodstream. This bonding between the two forms of what are known as lipoproteins will result in either high density or low density lipoproteins. Low density lipoproteins are the most common form of cholesterol and are generally considered to be "bad" for one's health. Where the high density variant will cycle through the liver and be processed out of the body, low density lipoproteins will work to clog arteries and restrict blood flow. Healthy (cholesterol-controlled) diet and exercise are recommended to prevent this from happening.
