Asthma
Asthma involves a chronic inflammation of the lungs, resulting in a person experiencing shortness of breath and wheezing, among other symptoms. In the US, nearly 22 million people live with asthma. It affects people of all ages, particularly children, who make up approximately 6 million of said population. While in many cases symptoms are mild and the patient will outgrow them naturally, in some cases, symptoms will get worse over time, and additional problems may arise. Asthma can effectively be treated with modern prescription drugs and inhalers.
