AIDS

AIDS, or Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, leads to the depreciation of the body's immune system and can be fatal. One doesn't directly contract AIDS, rather they get HIV, which will cause AIDS. HIV can be transmitted sexually or by way of contaminated blood transfusions. Standards have improved to ensure that blood supplies are clean and free of diseases. Once the HIV patient's immune system has seriously depreciated, they will contract AIDS, which can lead to other harmful conditions, such as tumors, cancers, pneumonia, and fungal infections.
