Acne

Acne is marked by the appearance of pimples on a person's face, likely due to hormones, which may result in scarring if not treated. Acne occurs when follicles of the skin are blocked and bacteria grows. There are two types of acne: Non-Inflammatory and Inflammatory. In non-inflammatory cases, either a whitehead (where bacteria stays below the skin surface) or blackhead (where pores open and bacteria reaches the surface), may form. Inflammatory acne involves papules (where the wall of the follicle is broken) and pustules (where white blood cells rush to the skin surface via papules).
