The theft of Rx drugs from pharmacies nationwide is fast becoming a widespread and dangerous crime fueled by drug abuse. While nationwide statistics have yet to be released, reports of armed heists in pharmacies throughout each state reveal the scope of the problem.
According to a recent RX drugs poll conducted by the Consumer Reports National Research Centre, almost half of all Americans regularly take at least one prescription drug, and have concerns over the safety, economics and the doctor who prescribed the medication to them. The poll surveyed some 2,000 adults aged 18 and above.
The safety of foreign rx drugs is a concern for many patients, a recently published study this week by the Pew Prescription Project health policy think tank shows. According to the poll, 73% of Americans responded that they were not confident about foreign drugs made in China and 54% expressed concerns about drugs produced in India.
