Driving while under the prescription of drugs constitutes impairment, just as driving under the influence of alcohol is an obvious offence. As prescriptions of strong painkillers such as Vicodin and Oxycodone continue to increase, many patients are no longer heeding safety regulations and are driving DUI, risking the lives of motorists as well as their own.
