A new study has released an updated list of the side effects of Aspirin. Like most drugs whether they are over the counter or prescribed, aspirin side effects do exist even though many believe that the benefits far outweigh any minor issues. It is important to understand that over the counter remedies are still considered to be drugs just like any medicines prescription. 3 - Heparin
4 - Corticosteroids
5 - Some antidepressants
Aspirin Therapy Side Effects
Risks associated with aspirin therapy are as follows:
1 - Allergic reaction
2 - Hemorrhagic stroke. A daily aspirin regimen can help to prevent a certain types of stroke (clot-related), it may increase the risk of a hemorrhagic (bleeding) stroke.
3 - Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and hearing loss
4 - Gastrointestinal bleeding. Regular aspirin use may increase the risk of developing a stomach ulcer. Aspirin will also aggravate bleeding ulcers, perhaps to a life-threatening degree.
Aspirin may cause excessive bleeding if taken before any type of surgical procedure (including dental).
The FDA states that alcohol consumption should be closely monitored for those that regularly take aspirin. Women should have no more than one drink per day; men should have no more than two drinks per day.
