Prescription Assistance According to a new survey released by Consumer Reports, the majority of those surveyed say prescription assistance is best received from small pharmacies. Consumer Reports is the most well known, unbiased source of information on every type of product from prescription drug medication and cars, to remote controlled toys.  The magazine, buying guide and website are used for research by thousands of people each year, many of whom are looking for complete, accurate and up-to-date information on products before they buy.

Findings of Assistance Survey

The survey shows that 94% of the readers who shopped at small independent pharmacies were more satisfied with their experiences over visits to large chain or big box stores.  Independent stores include Health Mart and The Medicine Shoppe.  These stores tended to make fewer errors with prescription drugs, offer better service and have a higher customer satisfaction rate, particularly when it comes to delivering prescriptions on time.  The stores are also noted for being able to offer better medication assistance regarding specific information on drugs as well as offering better in-store discounts.

The trends are also pointing to the fact that people are asking for less prescription assistance when it comes to receiving information on their prescription drugs list, leading pollsters to believe that people are more apt to use the internet to gain information.
