Free Discount Prescription Card Coast2Coast Rx Cards, which is a type of free discount prescription card, are being marketed by cities, townships and state governments across the nation; Phoenix, AZ is the most recent addition to the list.  The city has announced a partnership with Financial Marketing Concepts (FMC), Inc. to distribute and market FMC’s free prescription card to its citizens.

Each time the card is used at local pharmacies, as long as “Phoenix” is on the card, the city will earn a percentage of the money spent at the pharmacy.  300,000 cards have been printed specifically for the city.  Phoenix officials estimate that the first year in the program will garner approximately $100,000; officials say any earnings will go directly to finance city operations.  The cards will be distributed through libraries, community centers, customer service counters, and other public outlets.

Free Discount Prescription Card Provides Up to a 65% Price Reduction

While cities are earning a percentage of the money spent at pharmacies, citizens will experience hefty discounts on their prescriptions.  When using the card, an individual may experience up to a 65% discount on prescription prices.  FMC estimates the average annual savings for a family at 20% to 40%; according to FMC, they have partnership agreements with 59,000 pharmacies nation-wide and discounts cover over 60,000 types of drugs.

While FMC states on its website that the card was created to help the uninsured, as well as the under-insured, with prescription costs, anyone can print the free card for use from the company’s website.  In the case of Phoenix residents, they can also pick one up at any one of several public outlets.  There is no income qualification and anyone in the family can use the card. So, FMC has created a discount prescription card with no down-side for participants; it is free to those who want the discount advantage and it will help participating governments earn a bit of cash in the process.
