List RX Prescriptions and Chronic Pain
Cecil G Sheps and Dr Adam Goode from the UNC Center for Health Services Research noted that on the whole, patients receive very little relief when using such pain relievers to alleviate the symptoms of chronic pain conditions. The two researchers go on to say that alternative treatments such as acupuncture and rehabilitation have been proven effective in reducing neck and back pain, but despite trials proving the effectiveness of these methods, they are often ignored in the medical world.
The future of effective neck and pain list rx relief, according to Sheps and Goode, looks subsequently bleak, as more and more individuals opt for over-the-counter NSAIDs and other standard prescriptions which have little effect, if any, against chronic pain.
Chronic pain is referred to as pain that has not subsided even after six months of treatment, or pain which resurfaces intermittently despite ongoing treatment.
Patients currently taking list RX drugs for any chronic pain should always consult their practitioner for advice on the latest drugs and methods available for combating these issues, especially if the prescribed medication is not proving effective.
